Stay Safe, Stay Informed

Emergencies can happen at any time, and being unprepared can make a stressful situation even worse. We know that not everyone has experience with emergency response, but our goal is to make sure that changes.

Through our public events, such as CPR certification classes, we provide the community with life-saving skills. These events are open to everyone—whether you’re a parent, business owner, or community member—and are designed to give you the confidence and knowledge to step up in a crisis.

Many people don’t realize how much they can do in an emergency until they’ve been given the right tools and training. That’s why we make it our mission to not just react to emergencies but to prevent them through education and outreach. By participating in one of our events, you can help protect yourself, your family, and your neighbors.

Support Through Community Fundraisers

Every year, Elevation Fire Department hosts a mail-out fundraiser to help support the equipment, training, and services we provide to Johnston County. The funds we raise go directly toward improving our capabilities, from purchasing life-saving tools to enhancing our volunteer firefighter training.

Although we rely on this community support, we never conduct door-to-door solicitations—so if someone visits your home asking for donations on our behalf, it’s important to notify the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and the fire station immediately.

Your contributions, whether through donations or participation in our events, help us stay prepared to respond when emergencies strike. We’re deeply grateful for the support we receive each year, and it makes a real difference in how effectively we can serve our community.

What steps does the department take to ensure that donations are used effectively in supporting the community?

At Elevation Fire Department, we take great care in ensuring that every donation is used effectively to support the community and strengthen our ability to serve Johnston County.

When you contribute to our fundraising efforts, whether through our annual mail-out campaign or other events, your donation goes directly toward critical areas that keep our department running at its best. From purchasing life-saving equipment to maintaining our vehicles and providing advanced training for our volunteer firefighters, your support makes an immediate impact.

We understand how important it is for donors to know that their contributions are making a real difference. That’s why we’re transparent about where funds are directed and how they’re used.

For example, donations often help us acquire new gear that improves safety for our firefighters or fund specialized training programs that keep our team prepared for a wide range of emergency situations. In addition, your support helps us offer valuable public safety programs, like CPR certification classes, at a low cost to the community.

By donating, you’re not only supporting the fire department, but you’re also directly enhancing the safety and well-being of everyone in the community. Each dollar we receive helps us respond more effectively in emergencies, better protect property, and educate residents about fire prevention and emergency response.

Your contribution helps ensure that we can continue providing top-notch services and remain ready to protect Johnston County at all times.

We take great pride in the trust our community places in us, and we work hard to ensure that every donation is put to the best possible use. If you ever have questions about how donations are used or want to know more about the specific impact your contribution is making, we are always happy to provide more details, just give the station a call at (919) 894-1410.

Can I sign up my entire family for a CPR class or other community safety programs?

Yes, you can absolutely sign up your entire family for a CPR class [jerico please link] or other community safety programs offered by Elevation Fire Department. We encourage families to participate together because emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere, and knowing that everyone in your household is prepared can bring a great sense of security.

Whether it’s parents, teenagers, or even grandparents, learning CPR as a family means that you’ll all have the skills to step in during a critical situation, potentially saving a loved one’s life or helping a neighbor in need.

Signing up as a family also makes the learning experience more engaging and fun. You’ll get to practice life-saving techniques together, and having familiar faces alongside you can boost everyone’s confidence.

The hands-on nature of the class ensures that each person, regardless of their age or prior experience, feels comfortable and capable of performing CPR when it matters most. It’s a shared experience that not only teaches important skills but also reinforces the value of being prepared as a family.

To sign up, just give us a call at (919) 894-1410 and let us know how many people will be attending. We’ll make sure there’s plenty of space for everyone and coordinate a time that works best for your family. Our classes are designed to be welcoming and accessible, so no one will feel out of place or overwhelmed.

Plus, when you learn together, you’re creating a family safety net that can make a real difference in an emergency.

We’re excited to help your family gain these life-saving skills and feel confident in handling any situation that comes your way!
